Take care of yourself by taking time to focus on your health and well-being. Today's blog is about the importance of acting on your health. We need to listen to our body and mind.

A heart.

A quick backstory:

Up till now, I have always found joy in being active and playing #sports. I participated in most school sports teams, and pursued Athletics. I trained for sprints and towards late last year, field events( Javelin and Shot Put). After a while,it wasn't bringing me that same joy I once felt physically or emotionally.

I started to experience problems...

Physically I had felt weak and fragile with concerns of becoming very dizzy. I sought professional help and invested time to listen to my body in order to feel better. It was this period of time that helped me realise as well as appreciate how important it is to pay attention to your health -no matter the severity. Since that time, I have learned more about myself, what my body needs, why it needs it and much more which has lead a better lifestyle. For example, I now know that I still enjoy running but in relaxed approach rather than competitive (for the time being anyway). I proceeded to run when my body wants to get going. That simple change has made me much more hopeful and happier.

SO?

Now you're probably wondering how does this help me? Well, truth it doesn't but what it does do is set the scene for the lesson I learnt and will share with you. Being active doesn't always mean extravagantly going all out: it could be a simple walk, quick skip, a couple of baskets in the net, or even home yoga. Another lesson I learnt is that you have to 'be your own doctor', willing to be attentive to your own needs and give yourself the resources to feel strong again.

Health:
A person's mental and physical state.
A state of being free from injury and illness.

After a glimpse of my experience, I urge you to act on your health. The benefit of doing so is that it enhances self-love. You learn more about yourself and become more content and grateful.

I encourage you...

Listen to your body and pay attention to your mental state, it is so important.Go for regular checkups, take time to truly rest, think about what activity you might want to start doing.

I am no expert and maybe this blog didn't make much sense but that's ok. The sole purpose of today's blog was to remind you to take care of yourself and pay attention to your health in every aspect.

Small adjustments can be life-changing. A little focus on your well-being keeps negative effects away.

In the comments, write why you think paying attention to your health is important and possibly tell us how to go about it?
