How to Enjoy Summer (as an introvert)

Summer is a lovely season, especially if you are fortunate with consistent sunny days. Besides the weather, summer is a great time for making social plans, going on holiday or finding ways to spice up your mundane routine. However, summer can also be intimidating- you might become a little more body-conscious, a little drained or uninspired which is completely normal. So I present to you a few ways you can enjoy your summer...

Go out to a restaurant
Dressing up, feeling good and being served a nice meal while you are out is unbeatable. For me at least it's a nice way to feel good about myself as well as celebrate life- whatever the occasion. It's particularly nice when you are accompanied by someone or people that you care about be it, friends or family. The intimate number of people that you choose to go to lunch/dinner with can really facilitate great conversations- something I know introverts can appreciate!

Working out
Yep, you heard me- hehe. Experimenting and finding a workout style that suits you can be great fun. It's an opportunity for you to get movement for your body, improve your mental well-being and integrate some much-needed 'you' time in such a busy season. The motivations are there during good weather so why not take advantage of this so it becomes part of your wellness-centred lifestyle.
A creative project
The gist of summer is partaking in interesting activities and bringing some fun to a task. This is a good reason you should invest some time doing a 'just for fun' project whatever that looks like to you. You may choose to pick up where you left off or try something new such as learning a new language, starting a podcast or even perfecting your pottery skills. This is an activity designed for you to de-stress and have another focus other than your work.

Declutter
Out with the old, in with the new... kind of. You're probably wondering how decluttering or cleaning for that matter can be enjoyable. Well, you might be surprised that it can be quite therapeutic, gradually tidying up some messy areas in your life- digital or physical. There are many ways you could go about this, but the result should ultimately make you feel refreshed, open-minded and ready for the season ahead of you.
Movie Night/Spa Night
It's quite simple really- you dedicate an evening to watching a show or movie. The fun comes from being creative and really setting the mood with fluffy pillows, incredible snacks, and anything else to give you an enjoyable experience. This is an activity that is easy to do and optional to have friends/family with. Equally, giving yourself a spa treatment is a much-appreciated form of self-care that can leave you comfortable in your own skin.
My last few tips
Create a good music playlist to boost your mood
Reach out to old friends to catch up
Explore a new place/ area that you haven't been to
Practice gratitude/contentment to avoid unhealthy comparison
I hope that you got inspired to think of ways you can enjoy a summer that suits your personality and lifestyle. If you enjoyed this week's blog, be sure to comment on your favourite activities too.
Until Next Time... Ludel
