Hey everyone, it's felt quite a while since I posted but I'm glad to be in my happy place once again. This week's blog is short and sweet with a focus on 'reflection'. I'm not where I desire to be in life but I've acknowledged that I have come very far on my journey-with help of course.

This week has drawn my attention to how time is so precious. We don't have control of time, we only have a choice of how we spend it. This year has been a whirlwind for many and I for one have spent this year different to how I planned or even imagined. I'm amazed at how we're nearly in December. I look back with gratitude for the challenges faced and celebrations had because it's shaped me well. I don't have regrets because I've learnt a lot about myself in the process. I started this blog because I wanted to share how I've discovered and pursed wellness. I'm glad that I feel more conscious about how I choose to feel and live my life.

And yes I know this year isn't over I've thought a lot about areas of my life I want to work on especially good health -I've become much better. Allowing myself to feel emotions as they are rather than bottling them up which has made it easier to pick me up. This is the progress I want to continue to grow in. What progress have you made that you are proud of? Don't be hard on yourself either, I'm sure there are many.

How would you describe 2020?

One of the biggest lessons of this year to be humble and present. I'm a planner for sure, I like to set out goals/projects with high expectations, time associations and sticking to it. Are you like me in that sense? I can be so serious and uptight but now am more adaptable and open to change ( It is oddly liberating). I used to resist change especially when it didn't align with what I want. This year has helped me to put my wellbeing as a priority as well as think more about others not just physically but mentally, emotionally etc. I've made better choices with what I put my time and effort into which has helped me to feel happier and more fulfilled.

There are many unfinished projects and achievements I haven't met yet this year but I've learnt to deal with it. Some were within my control and others out of my control but either way, what isn't meant to be yet isn't meant to be. I've personally been humbled and reminded that God's timing is the best timing. I love to run with ideas as soon as they enter my head but now I've learnt to choose which ones to reserve and which to pursue - helping me to avoid burnouts.

Enough of my reflective ramble, I would encourage that you take some time to think about yourself, events, your surroundings etc. Reflection, I find, helps you stay grounded and inspired to keep going in life. Use these prompts below to journal or simply think back on this year.

Prompts:

-How has this year shaped you?

-Who has been a major part of your life this year? How have they helped you?

-What healthy habit have you developed? Why?

-Where did you want to be at this point in time? How does this compare to where you are now?

-How have you grown from the start of this year till now?

-What memory this year brings you the most joy?

-How well did your plans materialise this year?

-How do you want to end this year?

Thank you for reading to the end - I appreciate you. The year isn't over so keep going and growing. I encourage you to reflect to find some clarity, answers to simply understand yourself better.
